Title: Mini Course: Quantum Riemann-Roch, Part 1 - 3 (in English)
Speaker: Prof. Alexander Givental from UC Berkeley
Part 4 will be given at the same time on February 17.
Abstract: As the title suggests, our goal will be to establish the "Quantum Riemann-Roch Theorem" of Tom Coates and myself, and apply it to mirror symmetry. The plan is to move at a leisurely pace starting from the basics of the theory of characteristic classes and equivariant cohomology, recall some heuristic approach to mirror symmetry based on S^1-equivariant Floer homology, and then validate that heuristics with precise results of Gromov-Witten theory.
